Angela Bailey spent six years believing her marriage was built on love, only to discover her devoted husband was nothing more than a polished illusion. When she filed for divorce and asked her daughter to leave with her, the little girl clung to another woman’s hand and called her “Mom.” Donald Turner, cold and entitled, told her, “As long as you apologize to Nina, you can still live your high-society life.” Angela scoffed. “You might not even stay in high society yourself.” She walked out of the Turner household with nothing, determined to rebuild her life from the ground up. Paige North got a contract to get married to her high school crush, Cedric Brooks, a contract she willingly agreed to in hopes that the marriage would make Cedric love her.  But the marriage didn't turn out the way Paige would have wanted because of misunderstandings on both their parts.  Cedric travelled three months after their marriage leaving Paige with no words only to return three years later demanding divorce which Paige rejected.  Paige's mother got into an accident that caused her to need urgent surgery. Paige has nowhere to access money from, all her parent's accounts and properties have been frozen, leaving her with only the option of the compensation money that Cedric offered to her in favor of her agreement to divorce him. She takes him up on the offer and agrees to divorce him and get the money, which comes as a shock of disappointment to Cedric who was still in love with her. The agreement doesn't go as planned because now, Cedric is offering Paige another contract. 

I agreed to transfer schools with my childhood friend who was constantly being bullied, but she backed out on the last day. Her friend teased, "I can't believe you pretended to be bullied all this time just to get rid of Harry. He's your childhood friend. Are you really willing to let him go to another school all by himself?" Lena said indifferently, "It's just another school in this city. How far could it be? I've had enough of him always being around me. Getting some distance between us is just what I wanted." I stood outside the door for a long time that day before deciding to turn and leave. However, on the transfer application, instead of writing Haleswood High School, I wrote the high school that my parents wanted me to go to, which was abroad. Everyone seemed to have forgotten that Lena and I had been worlds apart from the very start.

I stood frozen outside the door for a long time. Finally, I turned and walked away. On the transfer form, I crossed out Oatheport High and filled in the international academy my parents had been pushing for. Everyone seemed to forget that Shane and I were never equals.
