A vision is playing out, and each of us can’t turn our eyes away. Lilly is sitting on the steps of Dalgaard Mansion, holding a white kitten. The kitten is a tiny, fluffy thing. But I don’t recall us ever having a cat. ‘You’re so cute,’ Lilly rubs her nose against the kittens, who meows in response. ‘My Harry would love you, but he’s just a year old and not able to take care of you yet.

In a sleepy little fishing village, a two-million- luxury SUV stood out quite a bit. Still, Kendrick didn’t think much of it—until he saw a man get out of the vehicle. Young-looking. Something about him felt… familiar. Just as he was about to take a closer look, Anna suddenly gasped, “Kendrick, come look at this!” He turned quickly in the direction she was pointing— A chubby brown bunny was peacefully munching grass beside a tree stump. “Getting excited just from seeing your own kind?” Annabelle shot him a glare. “There are foxes in this area too. Maybe you’ll meet your kind later and you can say hi.”

Keezy didn’t say anything, but the size of the impromptu construct and the clamour around it suggested it was the hub of the village. Fallen trees formed a bar with stumps acting as stools. Barrels of what was probably alcohol sat on top of each other. Drinks were being served and rapidly drunk. A band played music on homemade instruments in one corner. An unidentifiable animal roasted on a spit in another. Keezy walked up to the bar. “Where’s Vamalyn?” The woman (well, female wolf-person thing) behind the bar tilted her head at the gap between the barrels behind her.
