One afternoon, Harold sat with Henry in the top-floor lounge with drinks in their hands.
“You remind me of someone I once knew. A woman with fire in her eyes. She spoke of justice, of belonging. Evelyn… yes, that was her name.”
Henry’s heart skipped.
“Evelyn?” He asked trying to mask the tremor in his voice.
Harold’s face shaken, but he said nothing more, only sipping his tea as though he had spoken idly. Still, the words grew with unspoken recognition.
