“That’s called taking advantage of my good nature,” I huffed, though the protest lacked conviction. I tried to wriggle out of his grasp, but he held me fast and tight.
“No, Sierra,”
His voice dropped to a dangerous whisper as his eyes darkened with something that wasn't quite anger but wasn't quite tenderness either.
I swallowed hard as my hand clenched the book behind me.
“That’s called keeping you close,” he whispered before he leaned in again, and this time, his mouth finally claimed mine.
