After sliding the bag over my shoulders, I hesitated, my fingers brushing against the cold metal of my phone inside my jeans pocket.
A sudden wave of nerves hit my stomach, making it flutter uncomfortably.
Asking for this felt like pushing a massive boundary, like I was stepping over an invisible line he’d spent his whole life building.
But I pulled the phone out anyway, unlocked the screen, and held it out between us.
"Put your number in," I said, trying to keep my voice steady.
Leonard didn't move.
