The Pack's Dragon
Niarthen left the exhausted red-haired woman in the bushes of a front garden whilst Lyric led the way down the driveway to where the shadowy shape of a canvas-covered rowboat held the promise of freedom.
“It’s the right size,” Lyric whispered to Niarthen as they inspected their find. It was the bare minimum type of boat, made of metal, and without an engine. Just a scoop of metal with two built-in bench seats and row paddles. They would have no problem stealing it and getting it down the bank, but once in the water, the simplicity and lightweight design would become a disadvantage as it would rely on them for steering, and with the heavy flow of the current, could capsize.
