I need his time here to be perfect.” I felt my breath being held in my chest. “You won’t ruin another thing for me.” With that, Triston stood up and left me at the table. Triston and I were like fire and ice. He burned, and I melted with him near me. I gripped the edge of the table before I stood, my legs wobbled, nearly giving out from under me-

Adara smiled as she looked at her friend. “Well, Kiran is their boss,” she said to Caitlyn and she looked confused for a moment. “Yeah, obviously, he works here too, right,” Caitlyn said and James started laughing. “No, I just work here. Kiran owns the hotel,” he said and she looked at me again smiling. I started feeling uncomfortable as she kept staring at me and James and I could see that Adara was having a hard time composing herself. She wasn’t jealous, I realized, she was enjoying my discomfort. It certainly made me think twice about keeping my shirt on around the house for the next week.
