I'm kind of hoping that I'll never find my mate. He threw his head back and I watched the game going on with two of our other friends, competing with a bet between them. “Honestly man, I wish you could have given me a heads up that the other one you rejected was going to leave. She was pathetic but it would have been a dream come true to hit that.” I don't think my fist has ever connected so quickly with another person's face. It happened so fast that by the time I registered it, we were being pulled apart by our other friends while my fist was strong from the blow I just delivered.

"Well, a mate is a soulmate. Both of you are destined to be together." My jaw dropped. I place my hands on my belly and then proceeded to laugh like there was no tomorrow. "Ahahahaha-! Are you serious right now? Is this some kind of a made-up storybook theory that you found in the streets? Because that's hilarious!"

We couldn't keep pretending. "When I came here, I discovered Gianna and I share a bond. We are fated mates." Shock hit them like a fist. Lisa's sobs turned into stunned silence. Alex's eyes widened in disbelief. "What?" Lisa managed to choke out. "Tell me you're lying." "I'm not," I said firmly, meeting her gaze. "I never planned for this to happen, but it's true." My mom stepped closer to me, just as surprised. "Is this true? You're fated mates with her?"

She is my mate. "Because of the festival of lanterns. I found out that my mate was here but I never knew it was the Alpha." she said and I straightened my ears to listen to her heartbeat. She was not scared. Which was surprising. And weird. "Really? So you were so sure that your mate was here if that is the case, then I guess I will reject you because I don't want a mate." I said and moved away from the wall. She looked at me widened eyes.

I groaned throwing my head back. My mate is a child. Just fucking great.

Natalia’s POV I never expected to get a surprise like this, Mattheo's coming to the hospital and seeing me alone had managed to make my heart beat. I never imagined that Mattheo would even give me another surprise that was even more shocking than the previous one, not only did it make me do heart exercises, but it almost made my heart fall out of place because I was so surprised to see Mattheo in front of my eyes when I was just a few steps away from getting into the car.
