The Perfect Lie
I sat on the chaise lounge and made myself contented by just looking at her.
She nodded, and she went quiet for a long time.
“Please, talk to me, Tara,” I begged. Her silence was driving me crazy.
“What happened six years ago, Blake?” She asked again, but her eyes were fixed on the swimming pool.
“We both agreed for a six-year break, and when she’s done with her Ph.D., she’ll come back, and we’ll get married.”
Tara took a deep breath. “Not a clean break, just a break from all these,” She uttered in a low voice. She turned her face to me. “Do you think she’ll love Bree?”
