She did not want to feel like crap so she chose silk night gown because she craved a bit of softness which the fabric could deliver and the luxury touch never failed to cheer her up even if it was just for a bit. She dried her hair to prevent cold and let it loose. When she looked in the mirror, she saw her eyes getting puffy from the crying and added a bit of cold cotton pad underneath. Once she was done, she jumped on to his bed and pulled the blanket to cover herself all the way until the neck. She hugged herself in butterfly movement and tapped her own shoulders to calm herself down. It was a method she always used to reduce anxiety, although she never really had much of it to begin with

Rose showed us. I can tell that Mommy and Slade leave the room, but I have to pay attention to what I’m doing. Ms. Rose calls it “constantrating.” I take the long piece and walk it across to the other long piece. Then I get the short piece and walk it to the other short piece. I do the whole thing one more time and the blanket is small enough for me to put it back in my cubby. I get my pillow and put it away too. Then I put my shoes on. By the time I’m all done, Mommy and Slade are back.

I put the under sheets on the bed then draped the quilt on top.

She said they matched her hair. Doris gave me a blanket. It was handmade. Crocheted. Blue and white. "Your mother started this," she said. "She never finished. I did." I held the blanket. My mother's stitches. Doris's stitches. Together. "Thank you," I said. "She would want you to have it." I wrapped the blanket around my shoulders. It was warm. It smelled like lavender. Liam looked at me. His eyes were soft. "Merry Christmas, Ellie."

Without it, she’d stay up all night, tossing and turning, her small face scrunched with worry. We had tried to replace it once, years ago. We bought a newer, softer blanket, thinking she wouldn’t notice. But she did. She cried the entire night until we finally gave her back this old one, and only then did she fall to sleep, holding it tightly against her chest. I let out a sigh, running my fingers over the worn threads, and pushed aside my pride. This wasn’t about me. I had to do this for her.

That little cookie guy was my favorite when I first saw it. Throwing some kernels into the popcorn machine, I gathered all the snacks I know she will probably want so she doesn't have to put pressure on those sore looking blisters. The side closet off to the left of the room was filled with different kinds of blankets. I figured that since she will be clean and relaxed, a blanket made of silk sounds best for her.

She filled it with freezing water then grabbed a small white clothe. She soaked the clothe on the water then placed it against his forehead. He was still shivering and his teeth were cluttering against each other. She took a blanket in one of the closets in his room and placed it around him. He snuggled with it as she soaked the clothe again and rubbed it against his face, neck, arms and hands. Kelsey suddenly fixed the hair falling on his face and moved it. His locks were soft, Kelsey liked the texture of it against her hand.

Little strange noises leave my mouth, and Alex chuckles in amusement. “That’s it, Amber. You’re being a very good girl,” he strokes my back again, and everything inside of me tingles until I can feel myself turning back into a human. Fur is replaced with skin, and I shudder when I’m no longer fuzzy but naked and straddling Alex’s big form. He grins at me and pulls the blanket over my shoulders with his curious eyes roaming over my face. “Good morning, beautiful,” he says. “Was it fun being a bunny for five minutes?”
