I looked around, my gaze a bit blurry, but I couldn't find any object sharp enough to cut the blanket with. Groaning in frustration I fell back down. Maybe I could ask Casey tomorrow to get me a meal, hopefully she'd bring a knife too. I knew it was unlikely for that to happen. I picked at the blanket as my mind hustled to come up with a good idea. It took two minutes of my fingers mindlessly losing the ends of the fabric for me to realize I had gotten my answer. Joy overwhelmed me as I hurried to pick at the cloth successfully loosening it eagerly. I needed to have enough detachment before I could consider twisting and attaching the cloth to the hook.

I had tried to show them how I did it, but they just didn’t get rough enough with them, I guess. I was also starting to get really frustrated with my belly. It was in the way of everything and making me crazy. The only thing it was really good for was holding stuff like stitch markers while I crocheted. “You know it's necessary.” She sat down. But her ears were flattened back. I turned on the dryer. Not the highest setting. Medium heat.
