"A skyscraper. Humans constructed them in their cities to house thousands of people. They had technology that let them fly through the air and communicate across vast distances instantly." He turned more pages. "They reached for the stars and nearly touched them."

Aside from Evelyn, everyone had had a few drinks, their faces flushed, clearly a little tipsy. No one knew who started it, but all of a sudden, the conversation shifted to ex-boyfriends.
