Adeline’s POV The sun started setting by the time I reached home, I pull up to my driveway and turn off the ignition. I let out a sigh feeling anxious. I know once I step foot in the house mum and dad would begin the whole conversation of the whole marriage ideal. I mentally pull up my big girl socks and hop off the car and wiggle my hips in an attempt to brush off the slight pain from the fall because of a certain Mr arrogant and handsome who has a beautiful body but a questionable attitude. Anyways I shut the car door and walk towards the main entrance.

It was like I was too far out of reach. There had to be a wolf nearby. Closing my eyes, I search for a link, just one. Just one link, that was all I needed. It was weak, but I found one. “This is your Alpha. I need you to come to me!” I sent out the call, knowing that I had never met them. They would still respond, that they would have no choice. “I’m coming.” The voice was quiet, familiar. I sit down on a tree stump and wait until she appears.

I took a seat next to Joy and listened to their conversation while focusing on my food. “Do hunters live in caves?” she asked. Atalanta shook her head, “no, in houses.” “Do hunters hunt their own food, or just wolves? Do they eat the wolves?” Atalanta almost choked on her food, “we keep animals, like chickens, and we hunt for deer. Hunters see werewolves as abominations, so they will not eat them. I honestly mostly got scrapes to eat and usually there wasn’t much meat left over.” “Abominations?!” Joy had said, clearly feeling insulted.

She was giving Adeline a chance to show off her skills and also using the time to study her moves. "Humph!" Adeline scoffed as she slowly walked around Audrey. "I'm a wolf, I was just playing with my food before I finally killed it," Adeline used her leg to flip up the spear that was beside her feet. "Now, I'm giving you a chance to a fair fight," Adeline flipped the spear in a circular motion with her fingers. "Try to see if you can beat me before I change to my wolf and kill- Argh!" Adeline instinctively raised a hand to her cheek.

"We just need to get out of the open. We’ll find a place to hide together. A hollow log, a cave... anything." "Hide?" A sharp voice cut through the dark from just behind us. Even though I couldn’t see her face clearly, I knew it was Mirabel. I would recognize that sneering tone anywhere. "That’s your big plan, Adeline?" She chuckled and stepped closer. "You three really think hiding like scared rabbits is going to save you? If you had a single wolf between the three of you, maybe you’d have a real chance at surviving the night. But no, you’ll probably just trip over each other in the first five minutes and serve yourselves up on a silver platter."

Her eyes scan the ground to where the baseball bat lies between the two of them. "Oh, I don't need a weapon. Rather, I enjoy getting my hands dirty." Hunter declares, flexing his arm as he cracks his knuckles, making the tattoo of the scythe or a Grimm Reaper's blade twist on his arm in a menacing manner. The woman takes one look at the tattoo before gulping. Hunter takes a challenging step towards her, forcing her to take a step backward. The woman stumbles once more, petrified, as tears begin to slip from her eyes.

When we were kids, she used to get us into all kinds of trouble and I would always get blamed for it because once she flashed those big blue eyes, no one could accuse her of any wrongdoing. “To do it more often?” I laughed, thankful for the comic relief. Werewolves were actually peaceful creatures and we didn’t hunt other animals asides from the Grant Hunt and the wolves who did it for sport. It wasn’t banned or anything so they were in their rights. I watched for a moment before walking toward my door. As I was shutting it, I heard Elena whisper, “Go get your man, Auntie.” I shook my head. That girl was a disaster walking, and I absolutely adored the organized chaos that was Elena. I quietly crept down the stairs before slipping out the back door and into the forest. I muttered, which made Adeline turn her head at me. Her eyes darkened, teeth gritted already. Just like earlier, I can still feel her will to end my life. But because of Drake, she couldn’t do it. Well, even if Drake is not here, I won’t still let this woman lay her filthy hands on my skin. “Just shut up, Evangeline! I don't need your opinion!” Adeline screamed, which made me laugh. “Okay, I will shut up, but make sure you leave this pack as soon as possible. You're trespassing!” I responded.

She was aroused again and ached to be with her mates. Adele goes out of the room and looks around but couldn't find her mates anywhere. She goes out and realizes she was in a wooden cabin in the forest. She then hears a playful howl at a distance and sees two giant wolves playing together. They were flipping sticks around and ran to catch them.
