Silence swells. The Goddess turns to him slowly. “This is not how I wanted you to see me.” He looks at her. “I know.” That hurts her more than any attack. I feel it. She whispers, “I’m sorry.” The gods stir again. This ends now. A presence moves closer. Heavier than the rest. Older. I stiffen. “Who is that?” The Goddess’s face tightens. “The Arbiter,” she says. “The one who crowns and condemns.”

He nods at me, a silent promise that we’ll face this together. As the ceremony begins, my heart swells with pride. My father steps forward, his regal attire shining under the flickering torchlight. “Loyal subjects of the Lycan Kingdom,” he begins, his voice steady and strong. “Today, we reclaim our legacy. Today, we stand united as one.”

"I have energy. I am the rightful heir. So, dear brother, kindly step aside." The words struck me like a blow. He wasn't wrong—not entirely. Technically, I was not the heir. Even the royal helpers that passed by her had the guts to shoot her a disgusted look.
