I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON
But I had hoped more than anyone else, prayed, cried to the Moon Goddess everyday that this cancer, this deadly disease would be gone for good but I guess sound health was a luxury I couldn't afford.
"What is the success rate?"
She hesitated, giving me a reassuring smile but I could see through it all. "Thirty percent," then she quickly added, "but I think it's better than doing nothing, Luna."
"Ohhhh," I lamented, the tears finally slipped down my face. "Thirty percent? Not even a fifty?" That was practically a death sentence and nothing she says would make it hurt less. I squeezed my eyes closed, throwing my head to the side even though the bandaged wounds on my neck still hurt like crazy.
