I M Number Four Novels & Stories

Even Luna chuckled softly, and the atmosphere grew light and cheerful—until it didn’t. The room fell silent when an elderly woman in a white hood entered, holding a wooden staff carved with light symbols. Everyone stood in respect. The seer—looked right at me. Or maybe through me. Her eyes were cloudy, ancient, and knowing. “I see four lights surrounding you, daughter of Mystic Guardian,” she said slowly. “Four bonds. Four destinies.” The room froze. “Four… mates?” Luna whispered. My breath caught. Zion stared at me, stunned, while trying to process what he’d just heard.

That smirk looked so much like Kelvin! The only difference… he’s definitely older than Kelvin. Sofia looked at me and chuckled. “Don’t tell me he’s also your crush. You aren’t the only one…” “What’s his name?” I quickly sat beside her. “Elite, season four…” “No!! I mean, his name?!” “You don’t even know your crush’s name,” she chuckled. “Not my crush. I just want to confirm something,” I rolled my eyes. “He’s a Spanish actor. His name in the movie is Patrick.”

“Please let this be real. Please don’t take them away from me.” A warm breeze stirred the air around me, carrying the scent of jasmine and something else, something wild and free and full of promise. It felt like an answer. When I opened my eyes, all four of them were standing at the kitchen window, watching me with identical expressions of love and longing and absolute certainty. Five more days. I could wait five more days.

“Yeah. Give me a second. I’ll try to remember what I can.” She eagerly slides towards me with a hopeful look in her eyes. I focus on the image in my head. As the various numbers appear, I rattle the last four digits of them off. “8215. 6453.” She quickly grabs a piece of paper and writes them down.

“One more and you’re cleared.” “My third answer is the atomic number of Molybdenum.” “Can you tell me the number?” “Forty-two.” “Oh, yes. Right away, Wells Fargo.” Freedom replaced the receiver then excused himself from the group. Freedom walked out of the restaurant and got into a Xerox Copier shop nearby. He dialed the number 2349798 the resulting sum total after adding a series of secret numbers to each one. Tommy let it ring four times before he picked it up. He cleared his throat.

It would take me forever to guess the code from the million combinations! Fuck, I cursed myself silently. My legs slumped on the floor, feeling the weight of my sudden demise. What could the code possibly be? I closed my eyes, giving my temple a massage. A four-number code. Ugh! I mentally groaned. It was useless at all; I would be doomed to fail from the very beginning!

His face goes grim, and he motions for me to come closer. "There's at least four of them in there," he whispers. "And they're armed." My heart sinks. Four against two doesn’t sound like great odds, especially if they are armed. But I can't just give up. Not when Nora's life is on the line. "We have to take them out," I whisper back. "How?" Brynn whispers. Marlow cracks his knuckles. "Easy. I'll shift and take care of them." I give him a hard look. "I'm glad you figured out what your powers are, but let's be reasonable. You can't take them all on."

A smile spread across my lips as I walked up to them. “It's okay, please don't mind me, go about your normal duties,” I chirped. They seemed uneasy at first, but then they all felt somewhat relieved as they went about their activities. My eyes gazed across the room as I carefully inspected for cameras. There were four in total, one at the front, one at the back, one by the three huge freezers, and one at the center of the kitchen. It was no good; I knew it would be heavily guarded, but I really had no idea it would be to this extent.

I whispered aggressively like I could scare the cars away if I talked too loud. “It's just a tradition to receive The Ethan Starrk,” he said with a shrug, his tone annoyingly breezy. “Come on, this is nothing.” “This is not nothing,” I shot back, still staring at the cars. “How many of these are even for us?” He tilted his head, pretending to count. I tried not to roll my eyes. There were exactly nine vehicles in number. Four Audis and five onyx G-wagons. “Hmm all of them?” His answer came in the form of a question, but it was an answer nonetheless.
