Sunlight, that I see
After dinner, Melano leaned back in her chair, smiling at Alistair.
“I had a wonderful evening,” she said.
“So did I,” Alistair replied, looking at her.
But there was something different in his eyes. Melano noticed it.
“What is it?” she asked. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Alistair smiled and stood up.
“Come here.”
Melano looked at him curiously, but she stood and walked toward him.
Then Alistair took both her hands in his.
“Melano, there are so many things I want to say to you, but I’m afraid that if I start talking, I’ll forget half of them.”
