A MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE “Okay, I’m here. Are you ready?” Roman grabbed his bag in his hand and opened it, ready to reveal what he picked in the gift shop. “Yup, we’ll each reveal one item at a time.” Sierra reached into the bag to pull out the first item. Their eyes landed on the items in their hands and both of them smirked, Roman held up a 7-inch vinyl record with Ain’t No Sunshine by Bill Withers written on the cover and Sierra held up a polaroid camera.

I smiled, running my hand along the polished wood, feeling the echo of love and joy that had graced its surface. I grabbed a cup of coffee and made my way towards the porch, settling into the old rocking chair. As I sipped my coffee, I looked out at the rising sun, its warm light bathing the world in a beautiful glow. The garden was blooming, a testament to the cycle of life and renewal just like my children's growing lives. My phone buzzed, disrupting my peaceful solitude. It was a video call from Alex.
