I looked away. "This is Liam Black, our left wing," the guy with grey eyes and black curly hair nodded at me, and I smiled. He threw his arm, pointing at another man with beautiful, warm hazel and brown hair. "Meet Jaxson Jenkins, aka J-bomb, our right wing." Jaxson winked at me, and I chuckled. "Have you met Mason Kane, our defenseman?" he elbowed the dude sitting next to him. Kane smiled, all teeth, and it warmed my heart. I was amazed by his curly auburn hair and bright green eyes that were fixed on mine.

Gam muttered, a scowl settling on his face. "Snap out of it." Timothy had no patience for fragile egos. He’d expected the tech-head to be a weak link, but he needed a soldier, not a martyr. "You’re good, but I could have cracked your home security in two minutes. Lity had an inside track." "And yet, that tracker in your neck is still live." Timothy gave a cold, sharp grin. "That’s different. Kan Nelblack helped design that. He’s a paranoid bastard, and he’s stronger than he looks. His influence is the only reason I’m still standing."

"I can't get a clear shot! He’s using him as a shield!" "Cut the line!" Jax managed to choke out, blood bubbling from his mouth. "Matthew! Cut it!" "No!" Matthew roared. Cane grinned and raised his modified nail gun to press it against Jax’s temple. Two quick shots made Jax go limp instantly. Cane didn't let go of the body. He looked up at Aser and Cassie, dangling twenty feet above him. "One down," Cane rasped before he pulled a knife from his belt and slashed at Jax’s rope. Jax and Cane plummeted into the darkness below.

Ignatius. Get him out of my sight." Cane didn’t look back. He stood in the center of the cabin, the heavy soles of his boots grinding splintered glass into the floorboards. Two men in black tactical gear stepped from the shadows of the doorway. They grabbed Ignatius by his broken arms.
