Lucian's Undoing
Alistair said coolly, “that you have become soft. Weak. Ever since you started playing house with your little humans and angels. You’re not the D’Arcy I remember.”
Lucian stepped close enough to cast a shadow over him.
“I am worse,” he whispered. “I am far, far worse than anything you remember, Alistair.”
Alistair swallowed, the cocky tilt of his chin slipping for just a second. Then he stepped back, brushing imaginary dust from his sleeve. “Well. No need to be dramatic. I’ll take my leave.”
He turned toward the door but glanced back once.
His voice was low, full of venom.
“Remember this, Lucian: either by force or fire… I will have Elias. One way or another.”
