She finished it quickly and washed her dishes before resting on the front porch again. Regardless of the extra sleep she got, Brooklyn still felt a little drained of energy. She thought of the marking last night and felt heat flow through her at the vivid memory. Maybe that took a lot out of her. As Brooklyn was thinking of more possibilities for her fatigue, she noticed a rustling in the distance. She perched on the edge of her chair and watched as a wolf paraded around the trees. As he came closer, Brooklyn immediately recognized it as Landon. The familiar colors of his fur and the bright amber color of his eyes reassured her that it was indeed the same wolf that she had previously met.

He drew the briefcase on the floor up to the bar and slid it across to me. I caught it and looked at him. "What's this?" "Open it and see." Without taking my eyes off him, I opened the briefcase slightly. It was stacked with neat-looking one hundred dollar bills. I brought out one and sniffed it before putting it back. I looked up to see the man watching me closely. "Hi, my name is Zero, glad to make your acquaintance." I lifted a hand towards him in a hand shake and watched in rising amusement, the flow of emotions on his face. I knew he debated on whether to shake me or not. Coming to a conclusion, he brought out his hand and clasped mine in a firm shake.

"Mr. Williams, this rebar is too dense. It's all primary structural steel. You really want it all cut? The floor above might collapse." He wanted the money, but he did not want to die there, either. Barbara was sitting on the couch eating chips, and when she heard that, she spat the whole mouthful on the floor. "Cut them! Cut them all! What's the point of leaving those metal rods there? I want it open! I want a clear river view! You're a grown man, so why are you hesitating? Are you trying to squeeze more money out of us?" I walked forward at just the right moment and handed Rex a cold energy drink.

The argument between Zeva and Sky continued as if neither of them intended to give in. Meanwhile, Zero remained a silent observer.
