Still nothing. There’s no error message, no confirmation, nothing at all. “Okay… okay, this isn’t funny,” I mutter, my fingers already moving faster. “It’s just lag. It has to be glitch.” I try again to open it fully, but it only shows a partial preview, all blurred out by the pop-up timer. If I can’t stop it… then I need to understand it I scroll down, trying to find anything that looks familiar, anything that feels like something I would write, but the tone is off even in the little I can see.

He was sure even a whisper would alert the shadow he was looking at in the dark. What it was, he didn’t know. He was sure, though, that it was bent over to a lump, unmoving body of someone. The creature was groaning, but its prey was no longer in the defense. Adjusting to the darkness, it became a challenge not to make a noise when he took in the feature of the monster. It looked just like the ones from the movie he, and others before her, were so fond of binge-watching. “What is happening?” he whispered, tears racing down once again as he slowly moved back.

He sat on it, and booted the computer. He clicked some button which led him directly to the CCTV camera in the entire house. Clicking each footage, Mark patiently watched, waiting patiently for what he was looking for. Attention focused directly on the images before him, Mark clicked the automatic played for the next footage. He leaned back, rotating the swivel chair in an anticlockwise motion. Slowly, his eyes involuntarily shut on it own just as a figure on the screen stepped into the compound. Intrigued, Mark sat upright. He forwarded the footage back to confirmed what he saw.

"Your noodles are getting soggy." I didn't know how he thought that I'd have an appetite right now, but all I was worried about was him picking a fight with Lucas outside. Then, to my horror, he locked the door from the outside. I rushed to the window but didn't dare to watch their exchange openly. Instead, I pulled a curtain over my face as I peeked at the two. All I saw was Charles walking towards Lucas, a brief conversation, and Lucas looking in my direction with an expression that I could only describe as filled with despair.
