I smiled and felt a surge of relief in my chest. Then she pointed at the man who had opened the door for her and said, “Oh, I see you’ve met him already. Landry, this is Jane. Jane, this is Landry, my nephew. He just came here to help around because I was going to be really busy today and he doesn’t have any shift in the hospital right now.” Oh, I had met Landry alright. She was too embarrassed to even lift a smile. She cleared her throat. "I'm sorry about earlier, though." Mary's eyes widened. "H-Huh? No, no, please don't apologise. It's really okay. I understand." He didn't want these women to have a bad impression with each other, especially because Mary was like a little sister to him and was also pregnant with his potential niece or nephew.
