CHAPTER TWELVE: When the lovers met

Jillian's Pov

Han pulled into my dad's house and i step out almost immediately and ran into the house panting han behind me.

I dashed into my room and stopped at the entrance as i saw Maureen laying on bed

What's going on 

" Dad, what's going on ? " I asked him , glancing at him and joan. 

He looks at me and smile.

Doctor Joan stood up and walk towards me.

" I will be on my way now, Please can i have a word with you jilly and you sir? " He asked as he walk towards the  living room.

I stare at my dad and we both follow joan.

Han was at the living room standing beside the window.

Joan turn to us and sighed. 

" Don't you know who she is? " He asked seriously.

" She's Maureen mayor " i told him , gazing at him to tell me what's going on with her.

He cleared his throat and said slowly.

" She tried to abort her pregnancy " he announced.

I stared at him blankly in great shock.

" Which pregnancy ? " I asked joan to be Sure whether what i heard is right.

I laugh slowly and hit him playfully.

" Not too funny, try again . Maureen isn't pregnant. " I said to him smiling.

" I said she is and you better listen if you don't want this beautiful house to be haunted by her and her unborn child you have to bring her to the hospital right away. " 

I turn to my dad and his expression shows that he has also heard what joan said.

I started to shiver.

'' You don't mean it " 

" Yes, i do. i don't think she will last another day if care is not taken " 

My mouth flop open in great fear.

" Oh my God! What have i done. She is Maureen mayor , we can't just take her to any hospital. What about the media ? " i asked shivering.

I turn to my dad and was shock to see him beside me no more. 

I look towards the window and han isn't there either.

" She's ready to go. " My dad said as he appeared in the doorway.

" Good " Joan said and wanted to step out when he stop and turn to me.

" Media isn't important right now. All we need to do is save Maureen mayor and her unborn child. " With that he stepped out.

I followed immediately and i saw my dad waiting for me.

" Jilly i think you should go and inform Jack mayor about his sister illness.

Joan didn't bring his car as he was in great rush when we called him.

We will take your car, don't worry. I believe joan can save her.

Will you be okay if you take a taxi ? " He asked quickly and I nodded.

Before i realized anything all i could see was dust as han speed away.

I gaze helplessly ahead and was lost for sometime.

What if she died? What if her baby died?.

Who could have believe Maureen mayor could do such a thing.

I Know everyone has their story but going to the extent to killing an unborn child is very terrible.

I blink back tears as i remember how Zach has strangle her.

What was she doing with Zach Mike anyway?

I know vividly how Mike's family and Mayor's family hated each other.

I bit my lower lips to keep myself from crying but i failed.

" You should cry if you want to. Emotions are meant to be displayed i think " 

I jerked back to reality and stare at the man in front of me leaning against a very looking expensive car.

I gasp fearfully as i recognize him.

His blond hair neatly trimmed and combed, he was dressed in a black T-shirt and a baggy short that stop just above his knees.

His legs were crossed and he look dangerously sexy.

Did i said Zach is handsome? I'm sorry i take it back.

Jack mayor is surely many times more handsome than Zach Mike.

I wiped away my tears hurriedly and then i wondered why i am crying.

I look at him and i saw him walking towards me.

Oh great! Surely, he has come to kill me.

I doubt if he will understand that it is only help i render his sister.

I stepped back and almost lost my balance.

Pull yourself together jilly and explain to him.

"Hi, I'm Jack mayor " i heard him says and he extended his hand.

I look at him in surprise.

I have heard his stories of how very arrogant he is but his behavior here is different.

" I Know, i am jil... " I began but he cut me off.

" I believe my sister is here, please can i come in to have a peaceful conversation with her ? " He said smiling and i scoff.

Now i realized as he cut me off. 

He is trying to be nice because he knows his sister is here and he's ready to take her home.

" Actually, she isn't here Jack " i heard myself says weakly.

If anything I want to avoid , it is getting on the bad side of this gorgeously looking man who appear to be dominant and confident.

He tilted his head in confusion.

" I can't hear you well. How do you mean she's not here ? " He asked ,his voice still calm but I Know it's just only a matter of time before he lashes out 

I look straight into his eyes and i shiver.

Okay, i admitted he is as handsome as he is dangerous.

" She is ... " I started but my cellphone buzz and I quickly pulled it from my bag and check the caller. It is my Dad.

Oh my God! My hands shook slightly as i answered the phone.

" How's she ? " I asked my dad looking at jack as he pinned me with his chocolate colored eyes 

" Joan is still with her. I saw nurses walking around. I think her condition is critical " he narrated worriedly.

" Have you seen her brother? We need him here " my dad added.

" Yes, we will meet you soon. " I said and hang up before he said anything.

I stare at jack and exhaled deeply preparing for the worse.

" Your sister is in the hospital. She passed out after taking an abortion pills. " I said quietly.

He look at me expressionlessly and smile then laugh softly before the  laughter dissolve into a smirk.

" What? " He asked dangerously.

" I Know the hospital, let's go. I will explain on the way " i said and quickly walk towards his car and sat down.

He joined me moment later his jaw clenched as he gripped the wheel.

He didn't say anything as he started the car and drive away.
