Curse of the Wolves
“Say, don’t you find it odd the shelves themselves are covered in dust, but the jars have none? How long ago do you think these were left here?”
I shrugged. What did it matter, anyway? We had enough problems as it was. Worrying about some ancient, hidden storage room did nothing to further our cause.
With a huff, I came to a stop as I realized Azrael wasn’t following.
He lifted one of the jars from the shelves and tapped the lid. “What do you think’s in here? Jam? Honey?”
Before I could tell him we had need for neither, he twisted the lid off. A burst off bright, scalding light flickered from within, startling us both. Az scrambled, slapping the lid atop the jar and extinguishing the light.
