The other one was swollen shut, a sickly purple color. The rest of his face was in no better state. His lip was busted, bruises decorated his jaw and cheekbone, and there was a shallow cut running through the side of his left brow.

Cassandra rolled her eyes. It looked like Neil had been standing there for more than a minute, his broad face startled as we looked over at him. Being caught, Neil didn't pretend anymore and entered the room. Neil was a large man. Not tall, but wide. Blonde. He sort of had that look of a guy who was handsome in high school, maybe even in college, but then had a nuclear meltdown ever since. Blonde mop on his head, stubbled.
