Good. I didn’t want to think. I wanted to feel, to drown in something bigger than my own head. I rolled out of bed, naked, skin still tacky from last night, and grabbed the booklet from the nightstand. Pages of faces, bodies, names. I flipped to the men, scanning until one caught me, Jace, 32, built like a linebacker, dark eyes, a jaw that looked like it could crack stone. The kind of guy who’d ruin me and not ask questions.

I asked. Jaxon shrugged and kept his eyes on his food. "I like to keep the mystery in the relationship," he said looking at me as he took a bite. He gave me a playful wink. I laughed at him and started to butter my toast. I took another bite of the eggs and suddenly I felt strange. It was like my body was rejecting it all. I knew I was going to throw up. I felt icky and instantly sweaty. I got up, ran to the hall bathroom and barely made it to the toilet.

Every step, every breath, was measured; every heartbeat thudded in tandem with the fear he refused to show. Unit 14 loomed ahead, its rusted metal doors groaning against the wind. A layer of grime and decay masked its past, but Jaxon didn’t need vision to sense life inside. He had Raven’s message, encoded and clear. She was waiting, and he was going to find her, no matter the cost. “Positions,” Jaxon barked, signaling the men with the slight flick of a hand. Two crouched against the walls, rifles raised. Dante scaled a rusted ladder to the roof, binoculars already trained. Viktor tapped the comms, eyes scanning. Luca checked his pistol, then nodded toward Jaxon. “Ready when you are.”

Chase warns him. “The weird little thing I couldn’t figure out has shown its purpose. It’s positioned perfectly at my clit, and it’s sucking while Hudelone rails into me. Heat burns through my bones, and I’m silenced by the pleasure that builds,” Jax reads aloud with a grin. “Okay, stop reading the fucking book!” Chase laughs, shaking his head as he walks off. “I’m reading them all. “Thank you for telling me about the meeting, Jarek, but I need you to leave. Dante will be here any minute, and I’m far from ready.” Jarek growls, turns, opens the door, and slams it behind him.
