The queen touched his shoulder, her voice gentle. “Justin, give her space.”
“No!” His voice was guttural, filled with anguish. “If she leaves now, she’ll think I’m guilty. She’ll think—”
“Justin,” Justine interrupted softly, placing her hands on his chest. “You have to trust her to process this. Forcing her to stay will only make it worse.” She looked at me over her shoulder, her eyes full of sympathy.
Slowly, reluctantly, Justin allowed her to guide him back. His body shook with the effort of letting go.
