I take a deep breath and type it out, telling him I'm ready to leave with him, that I want to find out who I am with him. I hesitate for a moment before sending it, feeling the weight of anticipation in my chest.

I grab my phone, desperate for distraction, thumbs flying as I type: Bro, we have a problem. I can’t keep living like this. I delete it. Start again. I think I should move out. Seriously. Delete.
