Mona blinked once. Twice. "...Hi," she said, a little too casually. Kane's lips twitched, like he caught the way her voice shifted. "Hi, princess." He moved past her, grabbing a clean shirt and pulling it over his head in one smooth motion before reaching for a pair of joggers. Within seconds, he was dressed, composed, back to that controlled version of himself. But his eyes... Still locked on her. "Ready?" he asked. She nodded quickly. "Yeah."

“Maybe just watch from the side. I don’t want to make it weird for the team.” The studio was bright and busy. White backdrops, big lights, and people moving everywhere. Kai stood in the middle wearing an open white shirt and dark jeans, the phoenix tattoo clearly visible. The photographer, a tall guy named Nico with messy hair and a loud voice, circled him. “Chin up a bit more,” Nico called. “Yeah, like that. Give me that ‘I know I’m hot’ look. Perfect.” Kai shifted his weight. “Like this?”

Piper could sense what was going to happen next. She let out a silent sob and shook her head, “Please, Kai – don’t.” She begged, but it fell deaf on Kai’s ears as he paid no attention to the crying woman in the room. “Really? Umm, do you have Jujutsu Kaisen?” Benji asked exhilaratingly. A ghost of a smile could be seen on Kai’s stern face as he nodded his head, “I do. She warns, cutting me off and taking a swig of her Milk. “Ninjas.” I finish happily and put my hands up to defend myself. “I dare you to come at me. Even though he was saying funny words, there wasn’t a hint of smile or laughter on his face. “Are you seriously quoting Nagato from Naruto?” One of the tied men joked and let out a painful chuckle. The other one smiled awkwardly with his swollen lips. “Yeah, and I’m happy you’ve seen Naruto, now I’m going to show you what Nagato really meant.” Nick replied furiously, he stabbed the man on his lap then twisted the knife, the sound of flesh tearing apart and the splash of blood was covered by the man’s outrageous yell. “Who fucking sent you?” Nick yelled back, ignoring his painful screams.

Hugh, trying to incite Kiran's anger, responded defiantly. Kiran’s eyebrow twitched, "Seeking death!" "Kill him!" commanded Fukada. "Yes!" The three ninjas posed as if deep in thought, then flung out their hands, swoosh, swoosh, swoosh, blades gleaming as they shot toward Kiran. Fukada vanished into thin air, ready to attack Kiran once he dodged. Faced with the attack from the three ninjas, Kiran smirked disdainfully, "Scatter!" With a loud shout, his aura erupted, sending a powerful force outwards.

His voice had been low, matter-of-fact, with that slight accent she couldn’t quite place. She grabbed her mat and bag, locked the car, and walked to the door. It opened before she could knock. Kai stood there in black joggers that sat low on his hips and a fitted gray tank that showed the lean, sculpted muscle of his shoulders and arms. He was barefoot, as always. At six-three, with smooth olive skin and sharp features framed by dark hair tied back in a loose knot, he looked more like a dancer than a yoga instructor. His flexibility was legendary in the local studios. People whispered he could hold handstands for twenty minutes and fold into positions most bodies simply refused.
