Octava’s pov I walked around with Jakeson and Kaelan as we saw the damage that had been done all around us. Kaelan punched a wall, which broke under his fist. His blood trailed down, and he turned to us. “Look around you, sis. Do you think this is what we should be having? We are lycans. No one would dare attack us. This has to be a… an arranged attack, either from somebody within or someone who knows the pack really well.”

“Do I make myself clear?” His lips parted, like he was about to argue or scold me for telling me what to do in front of his pack members, as his eyes flashed, but then he stopped. A muscle jumped in his cheek. He nodded once, curtly, even though the scent of his anger flared through the air sharply. He huffed with gritted teeth. “Fine,” he paused and inhaled deeply before his eyes found mine again with absolutely no emotion left in them. “If you must know, there is no such thing as coincidence when the Order is involved, Ashina.”

“Fine. Then wait here.” He turned back to Dex, ignoring Jaden’s presence entirely. “Sorry about him.” Dex chuckled. “You two seem close.” Kai snorted. “We go to the same school. He’s just my tutor. And a persistent pain.” “Oh, then I don’t want to intrude on his break,” Dex said. “Let’s exchange numbers. It was Otsana, standing between us, her gaze locked onto mine, full of fear and determination. I froze, my body trembling with rage and confusion, the primal instinct to finish Ralph clawing at me from within. “Otsana, move,” I growled, my voice low and menacing, my chest heaving with each breath. “He’s not worthy of your love.”
