New York. "Are you sure this is the place?" Kane asked with an agitated tone. His hands folded across each other. He let out a sigh, before pushing the door of the tiny bookshop open. The bell dinged indicating his arrival. "Yes." His assistant said, trudging behind him silently, afraid that if he said something, Kane would snap him into two.

I said. “Well, I started skimming through all of them to try and find something. I haven’t read them all. But when you were talking about your brothers, I knew that was the most likely place that you would be.” He explained. “And you brought these books with you to start reading them in full?” I asked. “I saw Calvin’s name mentioned. I guess I wanted to know all the details before I killed him.” Kane said, looking away. I handed him back the book and looked straight ahead.

Kane's abnormal behavior was caused by his wife not sending any pictures in those two days. 'Mr. Kane has such a good memory. How could he forget that his wife had already been on a cruise ship?' His eyes glimmered faintly gold, a sign his beast was close by. Without a word, he closed his eyes, taking a deep breath as though drawing something from the air. I watched him intently, as he did whatever. Kane had told me once that his senses, heightened by his feral nature, allowed him to perceive things others couldn’t. Well, that was no doubt the fact. I only hoped they wouldn’t fail him now.

“Especially when I’m the common denominator.” Kane’s voice softens by a fraction. “You’re not in danger.” “That’s not what I asked.” The fire crackles behind us. “Irritable,” I mutter under my breath. “That’s what you are.” Kane’s brow lifts slightly. “Irritable.” “Yes,” I say firmly. “Intense. Hovering. Moody. Pick one.” Something almost like amusement flickers in his eyes. l “I’ll keep that in mind,” he says.

Kane said, not missing a chance to glare at Henry. I rolled my eyes as Ian coughed obnoxiously, but Henry let go of me first. Kane was a reason for it but there was something underneath that reaction as well. “It wasn’t that hard to find. It was on the first shelf.” I had so many questions about that statement but the book was here and that was all that mattered. I flipped the book open, resting it on the table as everyone laid their eyes on it. Smoke was in the air and Ian had ended his smoke strike. I’m surprised he got this far without snapping someone’s head off.

While he moved his hand in a circular motion to mask her scent and hide her presence. "Alpha, there is a passing pack. They are seeking shelter until the morning." Kane nodded at the female that was talking to him. “Give me a minute." Kane crossed his office back to Hayley. "And not to mention that we have to be hiding this from everyone.'' Hayley didn't meet his eyes. "You understand why." Kane pulled two books off the shelf, handing them to Hayley.
