Kindle First Reads Novels & Stories

Biting my nail, I opened my Kindle app from my phone and scrolled through the romance novels. I’d never been a huge romance reader, more of fantasy and sci-fi, but it wouldn’t hurt, would it? To gain a little experience? I giggled to myself and opened up the first one with a buff guy on the front. I’ll just read a few chapters.

I softly smiled at them and closed the door. With Frederick assisting Uncle, I was left alone to wander around the house, and what better way to kill the time than to read books. So, my main target was finding the library. After a few dead-ends, I finally found what I was looking for. There's no surprise, the library was huge as well. I trailed my hands on the hard-bound books. Novels, grimoires, Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, Emily Dickinson.

Gold—my mother’s signature color. I rushed over, ripping the envelope open. There were two letters inside. The first one, in my mother’s familiar handwriting, sent a shiver down my spine. "My dearest Bai, I cannot believe the trouble you’ve landed yourself in. Perhaps our nosy neighbor was right, but that is a topic for another time. I will do what I can from here to ensure no one discovers your involvement. But, if the king has not yet sent out news of the incident, that’s a good sign for now.

He kept his eyes fixed forward, as if I were invisible. A tall, regal-looking man stood up from his seat next to the Alpha. "Let us enjoy this feast!" he declared, raising his goblet high. "Our Alpha, our King, our Lord, The First of his kind, has conquered lands for us to thrive for centuries now! Soon, the world will be ours. Let us celebrate and be merry!" A roar of cheers erupted, but it felt forced, tense. I could feel eyes darting toward me, whispers passing like waves through the crowd. I stayed rooted in my seat, too afraid to move or draw more attention.

Until, having landed, she stood once again in a valley, shadowed by towering shelves of dusty spines and faded pages. “Not a reader?” he said after a brief pause. “Oh no, no, I am.” She raked her fingers through her hair. A nervous tick, the old guy creeping her out despite her having been there for less than ten minutes. “But it’s all Kindle. A lot easier that way.” She chuckled. He did not. “But those aren’t books,” he said. “Of course they are.” Raising her head, she caught his eye. Challenged him.

He рlасеd thе Kindle оn thе table and walked over, ѕlоwlу drорріng down ѕо hіѕ bоdу covered mіnе whіlе hе supported his weight оn hіѕ elbows.

My plan was to explore the house and find out every single possible escape route, while planning my escape. Why the hell does Mr. Dark and Dangerous have to be Mr. Smarty Pants as well? He leaves without a word, closing the door gently behind him. Twenty minutes later, the guard comes in with an electronic Kindle, drops it on the bed and leaves without uttering a single word. Strange. Glad to finally be able to do something, I pick up the Kindle and open up the first book. It's about a knight who eventually falls in love with a common girl. Classic.

In her hands she held her other gifts: a Kindle packed with clean romance novels and a copy of a ticket to New York City, so she could meet his family. Alecia turned on the Kindle, tapped on a book that she had wanted to read for many months, but she rested it in her lap. Three days they had, and then two weeks before school started again. I’ll be waiting for your update!” Her senior pointed at the two bottles in Kylie’s hands. “Oh, and where are you headed?”

Charlotte was feeling flustered after being caught by the head teacher for reading a novel in class. In her panic, she loosened her grip and her phone fell directly onto the bedsheet. She instinctively picked up her phone, then exited the reading app and switched back to the home screen. Only then did she nervously glance at the person beside her and said, "Reading a novel."
