When Kindness Kills

When Kindness Kills

The worst it could do was mess with my civil service exam, but I'd already signed up for an animation program at college. I wasn't planning on going down that path anyway. My last comic project had spin-offs that brought in enough for me to get by. When Alice saw we weren't reacting, she dropped to her knees. "Please, I'm begging you, save them—and save me. I don't want to end up on the streets." I looked down and met her gaze. "I'm only two years older than you. No way I could have a kid your age." Helena helped Grandma back to her room, leaving Alice and me in the living room.

Fire

Fire

’ I wondered to myself when Adara gave me a look. “Kiran! Look at all the dirt!” Adara handed me the broom and motioned to the dirt on the floor. I swept the dirt outside and found her looking at the chest and the strange carvings on the top. She got a cloth and wiped the top of the chest. The chest seemed to have a layer of energy surrounding it, but the energy felt familiar to me. It gave me a sense of home and family and I knew that Karani had left this for me to find. She had left a piece of herself in this chest.

The Lycan Prince’s Puppy

The Lycan Prince’s Puppy

The page blurred for a moment, but when I blinked and rubbed my eyes, my sight cleared, and something unusual caught my eye. “Wait,” I whispered. Kylan looked up instantly. “What?” I leaned closer to the page, tracing my fingers over the sketch in the middle. The book was clearly old, both hand-drawn and handwritten in a script that was hard to make out, but I knew it was the right page. ‘The Box of Ashes.’ “Look,” I pointed out. “Aren’t these the symbols from the box?”

Starry Start
Whether you write the flashback or the ongoing story it is making me get involved so much. I love this story so so much. Whoever reads this story, they can never abandon it. I generally never read a story till the last but this is a real exception. No matter how late you update I keep on waiting......

So far, one of the best books I’ve read on this site! I’m so engrossed in the story I’ve laughed, cried, and felt everything along with the characters. The plot unfolds in such a way that each new discovery leads to more intrigue and inquiry. It’s one of those story you vent and rant about to anyone

The Coven of the Crow and Shadows: Ghost Opera

The Coven of the Crow and Shadows: Ghost Opera

“Yes, it’s time you are marked as an official member.” “Yeah, Dad’s gift is cool and all, but I got you something that is just for us,” Kai states as he repeats Dad's move with the shadows. When his shadows disappear, there is a black book with old-looking pages. “It’s a blood-bound journal that only we can use. I figured it would be cool for us to keep in touch while you are in the human realm.” “Thank you, Kai,” I reply with a smile, taking the book in my free hand.

Claimed by the silverfang alphas

Claimed by the silverfang alphas

"Find out how to kill him. Before I decide to go back down there and just eat my way through his army." I took a breath, steeled myself, and held the Kyanite Heart up to my right eye. I looked through the crystal. The world shifted. The warm orange light from the fire changed to a cold blue. The dust in the air looked like tiny stars. I looked at the Codex. The quick, moving symbols that had confused Vida...the strange writing that looked like bugs....stopped moving. Through the blue light, the ink seemed to rise off the page, change shape, and then became clear text.

The Kindest Cruelty

The Kindest Cruelty

Then, I saw what he did next, and it was pure madness. He laid the child Susie had given birth to right next to my body and cranked the sauna to an unbearable 180 degrees. My eyes were wide open in shock. Chester was trying to cook himself alive! The most shocking thing was that Chester, out of pure selfishness, had actually suffocated Susie's own child. I could only watch as the child was transformed into a mummy, just as I had been. At that moment, Chester pretended to scream, "Oh, my baby!"

Her Three Wicked Mates

Then again, my life wasn’t normal. “As far as what I know about hybrids,” CLAIRE continued, “I know the brainwashing bullshit that VEXX teaches, and I know my own experiences. But I’m trying to find something in one of these books to back up any of what I think is true. We should keep at it.” Apparently, she wasn’t going to tell me her theories. I opened an ancient tome—so old that the pages were elegantly scribed by an individual rather than a machine. The artwork caught my attention first. In the section header was a drawing of a person with a wolf’s head. I read the passage below and sucked in a shallow breath.

Hidden Heiress: The Lycan King's Disfigured Queen

They're old, no doubt but kept in sync and the condition of them was really good. As I was looking, one caught my eye—a thick volume bound in cracked leather. When I pulled it out, the cover bore the same mirrored-flame symbol, pressed in faint silver… My heart throbbed and Kira stirred. ‘Open it, Val.’ She whispered, eagerly waiting. Slowly, I glanced at Caroline who stood at a respectful distance, thankfully. I opened the book with tight breaths. Pages of the ancient script were indecipherable, but the illustrations sent a chill down my spine.

The Ace at the Apex

The Ace at the Apex

Suzanne then told Javier Kaiser’s parting words, telling him that the abnormality he was sensing were signs of the world’s great change. Javier frowned as she added, “My boss also told me over the phone that he sent you a copy of…something. I don’t know what it is.” She handed his phone to him, and Javier unlocked it with a retinal scan. There, in his special mail app, he saw a notification about receiving Kaiser’s document. It looked…ancient. Mystical too, like a spellbook of the past. The name of the book was straight out of the occult naming convention too: The Grimoire of Five.

A Violent Kind of Grace

A Violent Kind of Grace

Fist clenched, breath drawn deep, I channeled strength into my core. My fist collided with the tree's trunk. Crack! Two fissures erupted from the point of impact, racing outward, splitting the trunk in two. Shock painted their faces. The tree's crown lurched, crashing down with a 'whoosh!' The earth trembled, leaves took flight. I shook out my hands and faced them squarely. "Had I actually pushed her, she'd be in the hospital right now." Alice's tears ceased, her complexion ghostly. Victoria's rage gave way to terror, her grip on Alice's arm so fierce that her nails could have drawn blood.
