“What do you mean you did something terrible?” Crystal swallowed hard. The confession clawed its way up to her throat. “I have… been in contact with Rissa.” She choked. Kristen froze. She almost laughed, hoping her ears were playing tricks on her. “Wait… hold on.” She paused. “Please tell me it’s not the same Rissa. Not Briella’s evil sister.” Crystal’s shaky nod said it all it. Kristen’s chest caved in. “What did she ask you?” Kristen’s voice was careful, almost pleading, searching for a good answer... something that would prove Crystal wasn’t going to turn out to be a traitor, but Kristen’s gut already knew, Crystal’s face said it all.

Her meager connections really meant nothing against the Jastrows. The truth seemed destined to stay buried forever. Kristen smiled brightly. “Alpha Arkyn of Black mountain.” She said brightly bowing her head, her voice was shifted to more musical sounding. “Yes and who are you?” Arkyn smiled looking at it. “Lydia.” Kristen said acting shy. “Lydia what pack are you here with?” Arkyn asked her, looking at her like he recognized her, like he knew something was wrong. She had to act quickly. “I’m from-” Kristen stumbled forward. Arkyn drink splashed up over them and at that moment Kristen allowed the crystal dust to cover them. Arkyn caught her in his arms. Her face landed next to his ear.
