Chapter 33 – Blood and Light The air shattered as the shadows lashed out, their jagged strands of light whipping like living blades. Kaidën pushed Akira back just in time as one of them sliced through the stone where she had been standing, sending sparks flying. Her father’s voice resonated, not loud but somehow echoing everywhere at once. “Do you see now? The shadows don’t destroy—they obey. They belong to us.” Kaidën lunged forward, his blade flashing in a blur of precise and ruthless movements, but every strike was met with the writhing coils of light that her father wielded like an extension of himself.

Chapter 22: A Cage of Shadows Diva’s POV Darkness pulled me under, thick and suffocating. A distant voice called my name. Familiar. Desperate. Then— Pain. A sharp, searing bolt that dragged me back into my body. I gasped, my eyes snapping open. Light. Not the soft glow of the moon, nor the warm flicker of torches. This light was harsh, artificial, casting long, twisting shadows on damp stone walls.

This time, I manage to get my fingers on the cheap plastic switch before I get hit again. I’m ready for it though. I throw up an arm, batting the thing away from me before it can fully slam into me. It’s a shadow—a fourth shadow—and it skitters across the bed then disappears on the other side of the mattress. I take advantage of its distraction and slam the light on with a little more force than necessary. The lamp illuminates the room, such as it is, casting dull amber light into all the corners. It’s the first time I’ve seen the shadows in the light, and the effect is even more eerie because my brain knows they should vanish—but they don’t.

Andrew, Daniel, Alex and even Lisa is also present at the party. "When they came Mr Alex?" Lisa asked. "Sorry, miss Green, I don't know about that. Maybe they are on the way", Alex replied. Suddenly they all hear the sound of the car and immediately understood. They all went to switch off the lights to gives surprise to Emily. As the first light of dawn peeked through, I saw Samuel. He was gone, turned into a ghost. His stubborn spirit had somehow tied me down too, like invisible chains I could not break. I wanted to get away, never to see him again, but I was stuck. He noticed me as well. His face, which had been ashen, suddenly lit up with an incredible glow. He blinked, tears streaming down his face. "Yocelyn!" He was so overwhelmed, moving to grab my hand.

But I stood my ground, channeling all the magic within me to fortify my barrier. The dark shadows writhed and twisted, pushing against the brilliant white light with a ferocity that was both terrifying and awe-inspiring. It was a battle of wills, of strength, of determination. But slowly, the darkness began to recede into nothingness as the light prevailed. When the shadows dissipated, I lowered my trembling arms, my chest heaving with exertion.

“You’re drooling, Little River.” He teases lightly, and I flush. “Sorry” I murmur, but before he can say anything, something moves beside him and moves towards me as if coming in for a hug. I scream and jump back, only to take a close look… What in the Dr. Facilier shit, is this? Is that his shadow casually coming my way? “I-uh-I…” “Back.” He says, and the shadow seems to deflate sadly and then retreat into his actual shadow.

“And I’ll do whatever it takes to protect her… to guide her. But the world isn’t ready for her. None of us are.” The Council Hall seemed to breathe around them, shadows lingering just at the edges, aware, watching. Outside, the first rays of dawn caught the twisting shapes of branches, the alertness of the pack, the flicker of silver light through black veins. Something had begun. And nothing could stop the Shadow Flame from waking fully.

“He who was born between worlds. Of light, yet of shadow. The world you knew has fallen, because it never understood — darkness is not the enemy of light. It is its mirror.” The child stirs, tiny fingers reaching upward. When they touch the Dark Lord’s hand, the chamber’s light begins to shift. The black walls fade to gray, and behind the throne, something flickers — something that has never before existed here: a beam of light. Not strong, not burning — childlike, fragile, pure. The Dark Lord’s eyes flash. His hand pauses, then gently touches Kael’s brow. Light and shadow meet. At the touch, the child laughs — not with a human laugh, but with something deeper, like the first sound of a newb

They were both afraid for what's to come, out of nowhere. It would be a hungry animal in search of food or a deadly monster who's waiting for its prey. Both of them hope it was just an assumption. “Suppleret nos lumen tuum.” Falla cast a spell as she waved a piece of stick on thin air and a blinding ball of light appeared up above them. It brightens the area close to them. There, a dark hooded figure stepped out of darkness to reveal itself. Its eyes were as red as blood and its presence gives a chilling and horrifying feel.
