I never thought it was a problem.
I approached the receptionist. "I'm here to see my husband," I said.
She raised an eyebrow. "Who?" she asked, looking disgusted.
"The CEO," I replied.
She chuckled. “Our CEO?”
I nodded, my patience wearing thin. She adjusted her glasses as she leaned forward. She was a lady in her mid forties.
“Ma’am, firstly our CEO isn't married and also our CEO is out of town."
I stared at her, confused. "What? That's impossible. I saw him this morning." I wasn't bothered about the fact she said he wasn't married, she must have assumed because she has never seen me.
