They bolted as fast as they could. Once inside, Hayley's vehicle began releasing the dogs, clearing the remaining zombies. Stepping out of the vehicle, she noticed a book lying on the ground, titled "Postpartum Care for Sows". She crouched to pick it up. It was a good read worth keeping. This farm was a small black pig operation, technically a franchised pig farm. In Hayley's city, pig farming had been reformed years ago, and farmers could no longer raise pigs freely. All pigs had to be raised in certified facilities, and once grown, they were sent to slaughterhouses for processing.

At that moment, Jack and Skyr were both looking at me. I gulped and started backing away as I waved my hands at them in denial. “Actually, I am good. It is lunch time and I want to eat.” “Nonsense!” Jack wrinkled his nose in disgust. “Sure, the food there is alright, but it is just repetitive. I mean, don’t you miss food from the land? Real meat and not just sea foods? Barbecue, steak, rice.” As Jack continued to enumerate the foods that I missed on the surface, my mouth started to salivate and I swear that just thinking about meat is already making me smell barbeques.

I say and Hope gave him a look. Much of this land is fenced in, it is where the genetically superior breeds of animal including Sika deer, elk, and specialty cattle meander throughout the enclosures. “Just kidding.” I say, and patted her head. She pouted at me and I pinched her cheeks lightly.
