A fitting resting place, where words found their way home, even belatedly. Yam didn’t reply. Not yet. Instead, he added a new entry to the “Letters That Waited” notebook: _“To the ones who disappeared kindly— thank you for coming back, even if just through paper. You taught me that closure doesn’t always need conversation. Sometimes, it just needs to arrive.”_ Franc placed a sketch beside it: a mailbox under moonlight, slightly ajar, glowing from within—a beacon for lost words and found hearts. That week, Yam made a small shelf near the studio entrance titled:

Just sneakers and a light jacket. The city was unusually quiet. I ended up at a small antique bookstore tucked between a florist and a tailor. It had no flashy signage, just a brass bell on the door and a handwritten welcome note in cursive. Inside, the scent of old paper and cedar wrapped around me like a story waiting to be told. I let myself drift between the aisles until a book caught my eye—Letters Never Sent. It was a collection of real, unsent letters from women over the last century. To lost loves, estranged mothers, unborn children.

It has an ornate metal clasp on the front which locks the pages giving the illusion of it being a box. I run my fingers over the clasp and it clicks open. I feel my wolf push to the front of my mind but I'm so engrossed in the book I hardly even notice. I open the cover carefully and look at it. On the inscription page is some writing and a hand drawn picture of a wolf in black ink. I read the inscription out loud. 'Journal of Lycius 1800AD' "Where does it say that?" Hunter says looking over my shoulder.

But tonight wasn’t for recounting her day. Tonight was for release. She flipped to a new page and titled it: Letters I Never Sent She sat still for a moment. Then, as though her heart took over, she began to write. To Liam, Thank you. Not for the heartbreak. Not for the silence. But for being the storm I had to walk through to find my roots. I was pulled from my thoughts, as I realised that one of the librarians at the desk had been speaking to me, and I'd not heard a word she said. "Sorry, I.. was just lost there for a second," I said awkwardly, "I missed what you said." She smiled as though she understood, "Oh, no need to apologise," she said brightly, "I was just asking if you needed any help finding your way around. I don't think I've seen you here before.."
