I asked, my tone mockingly stern, arching an eyebrow at her as her lips twitched, betraying her attempt not to laugh.
“Yes,” she said, crossing her arms defiantly, though her grin gave away her playful mood. “I just ignored you. So what? What are you going to do about it?”
A slow smirk spread across my face. “Oh, you’re really going to challenge me, aren’t you?” I stepped closer, lowering my voice just enough to make her blush deeper. “Let me remind you, my dear wife, you’re already limping. If I decide to play with you now, you won’t be able to walk for an entire week. And guess what? That means I’ll have to carry you everywhere again.”
