I didn’t know what was worse, the physical pain or the rising panic in my chest.
“My name is Vireya,” I said softly, still staring at the cell door across from me.
“Yes, I heard that earlier.”
She studied me in silence for a moment, then added, “I think they’re afraid of you, or maybe they want something from you. Either way, you need to find a way to stay alive.”
I glanced at her. “What do you mean?”
She leaned forward. “Isn’t it your wolf that took the Heartstone for their fallen leader?”
