Anything For Lola
I bite my lower lip to keep from kissing her.
“Then I’ll have one with beef. Extra salsa and sour cream, too,” I say enthusiastically. “That way, we can share,” hoping she’ll take the offer.
“Okay, sure. I haven’t had the beef in a while,” Lola replies sweetly.
After she sees, I’m serious about sharing. We split our lunch evenly. Lola is adorable with how she eats—going from shy nibbles to bigger bites as she gets more comfortable.
I must do something to stop myself from fantasizing about Lola. The memory of her pig of a boyfriend does the trick, but I know she can do better.
