I turned to find Luke still in my roommate's bed, but she herself was gone. "Kaitlyn went to class," Luke answered as he saw me look at the empty spot beside him. "So that's her name" I scoffed. "You didn't know your own roommate's name?" He asked, confused. "That was her choice. Real classy lady you got there" I rolled my eyes as I got off my bed and grabbed my things to shower. "You sure you don't wanna undress here first?" he teased. Has he always been this shameless? "Yeah I'm sure." He got off the bed and came towards me.

"Sister, our community used to be a family building assigned by the bank. Although it is an old house, it is still very safe." Sister Wang, the fat landlord, was panting while climbing the building, but Amway didn't bring any trouble to her house. Sister Wang really likes this beautiful, cute girl. Just came back from abroad, and no boyfriend, live alone, worry free.

But then, Hayden came into the picture, and together we tackled those problems one by one until they were gone. Honestly, I loved having Hayden around, whether he was running sunny or dark and twisted. It was just that I was so used to being a loner. Outside of family, I couldn't believe anyone might truly care about me. "We're literally roommates, yet it feels like I don't know a single thing about you." Hayden's tone was eerily calm, but I could tell he was absolutely fuming. Before I could even answer, he muttered, half to himself, "Then again, that's the kind of stuff you save for the person you love."

All my money is yours. "I bought you a gift, babe. Remember to collect it." ... My other two roommates were green with envy. "Miranda, he must really like you. He's even buying you gifts!" "All his money is yours? It must be true love. Everyone's right. It's best to date the rich." "It's a fairy tale come to life. Such is the love between princes and princesses." ... I was rendered speechless at their envy. Did they not find it all far too fantastical? Pretty words cost nothing. How was this considered true love?

“My parents always do this big, chaotic thing. Food everywhere, Christmas movies on repeat, cousins running around like feral animals, aunts arguing over board games. It’s loud. It’s messy. It’s… nice. You’d fit right in.” I stared at him. He hurried on, words tumbling faster. “I mean—not as, like—not as my boyfriend or anything. Just… as a friend. Roommate. Someone who doesn’t want to spend the holidays eating takeout alone in an empty off-campus apartment while the heat’s set to sixty to save money.” The word *boyfriend* hung between us anyway, bright and unignorable, even though we’d both been careful not to say it out loud yet. My throat tightened.

"Arthur, please. I need this. I need to know I can do this without you swooping in to fix everything." "Fine." The word came out clipped. "But if anything else happens—" "You'll hear about it immediately. I promise." "I love you." The words made my chest tight. "I love you too." I hung up and handed the phone back to the nurse, who'd been pretending not to listen while very obviously listening to every word. "Overprotective boyfriend?" she asked with a knowing smile. "You have no idea." She patted my shoulder and left just as the door burst open and my three roommates tumbled in, their arms full of snacks and flowers and what looked like an entire bag of chocolate.

And about Liam—my confusing, temperamental, talented roommate who kept getting under my skin. Jake listened the entire time without interrupting, nodding slowly. “You’re in love with the last one,” he said. I stared at him. “No, I’m not.” “You say that like it’ll make it true.” I didn’t reply. He leaned back, staring up at the stars. “Here’s the thing, Barbie. Love isn’t supposed to make sense. And you’re allowed to be angry, confused, even scared. But you don’t have to carry it alone.”

They get a room, and the guy opens the curtains, looks outside, and says, “Lovely view.” The woman mishears him and says, “Awww – I love you, too!” And the last line of the article was, “I broke up with her the next day.” Stories like that were what kept me from saying anything at all. Besides, it wasn’t like he hadn’t already said it… albeit four years ago. I’m in love with your roommate. Maybe you can’t LOVE somebody if you don’t know them, but you can definitely fall in love. You know how I know? Because I’ve already fallen in love with you.

Lou: "Why did your roommate use your apartment for.... that?" Alura huffed. It was just absurd, because she was about texting her ghost husband about Nessa's sex life. But she was careful not to give too much information. "My roommate is just wild compared to me," she typed back rapidly.
