“I’ll take care of it, Luna.” Ayanell stands up and, after gathering all the papers into a single folder, hands them to Selene. “I’ll let you know as soon as there’s news. It’ll be quick, answers should come by morning.”
The doctor leaves after Selene nods. Her chest feels like a deep, dark, turbulent pit. Not even in her worst nightmares could she have imagined something like this, but after what she witnessed that night, she no longer knows what to think.
