The man got cut off in middle as Ares grabbed the man by his neck cutting of his oxygen supply. "Don't you fucking dare to spell my Mate's name from your mouth!" He growled in rage. Lycans are possessive supernatural and him being the King of supernatural makes his possessiveness increase ten folds more. He wouldn't tolerate someone saying his mate's name. Only he has the right to call her by her name, no one else. He put the man on the ground harshly and glared at him. The man cried out in fear. "I a-am sorry. F-forgive me please."

The elders had expected this announcement at long last and it seemed most of them realized it would take a queen to survive. “Being Lycan King, I will decide my mate and being elders it’s your duty to give her respect no matter who she is.” One of the oldies came out and he was an old man having grey hairs with sharp eyes. “Yes, Your Majesty, we will obey you. But tell us, whom did you have chosen as a life partner?” I breathed deeply before I spoke the words that would shatter the room. "Lyra." A heavy silence fell. Then, as if someone had just lit a fire in the room, whispers and gasps started erupting.

With a pained look on her face, Madeleine said, "I'll never give you a hard time again, please tell Leon to let go of my hand!" I looked over at Leon, whose hand was still on Madeline's wrist. Not wishing Leon to make a scene, I went up to him and whispered. "Leon, let Princess Madeleine go!" Leon released Madeline's wrist with a cold grunt. He stepped forward and looked down upon Madeline like a king. "Emily is my mate and future queen of the werewolves. If you want to continue living in the courtroom, hold back. I am not so tolerant of you as my father and mother were. Aunt Madeleine, I want you to learn to respect my mate in the future, understand?"

I was placed on a bed and the man turned his back on me and started walking away. I thought he was going to close the door before coming back to me. I wasn't a fool. I knew why I was here. After hearing the man I didn't get to see refer to him as your majesty, I knew I was doomed. I was a slave to the notorious mateless Lycan King. Rumour has it that he's ruthless and a womaniser. He takes female wolves or Lycans as his sex slaves and discards them when he's bored.

I stood on tiptoe hugging him and said, "I love you, whatever the risk, whatever will happen later, I will always love you. Let me fight with you, we will destroy the enemy together. If we win, I am the woman who knows first. I am proud if My Mate is The King of Lycan in Wolverse. In the next second, my body spun because of it, crashing into the wall in the confines of his big body. Without begging me, he fucked me very hard, rough, but I like it, because our love is so hot, overpowers the heat of a burning fire.

He doesn't need your approval! "I will send you to Eclipse Castle. The Lycan King is fond of you after watching your match. You will leave there as long as he wants," he uttered. "There's no guarantee that you will be coming back here…alive." My eyes widened when he mentioned the Lycan King who personified arrogance, virility and power. Everyone was afraid of him. In his prime years, he killed thousand Alphas. It was a miracle that he was the one who offered a truce but of course, all of us were still at his mercy.

I felt a strange feeling of need and despair, as if I needed something to calm my nerves. Tristan poured another drink, his fingers brushing mine as he offered. "So, Veronica, who is this guy that's giving you so much trouble?" I took a sip and let the alcohol burn my throat before answering. "These are the Lycan Kings, Lucas and Simon." Tristan's eyebrows furrowed. "Ah, twins. They have a good reputation. And you alone." I nodded, feeling the warmth of the drink spread through me. "Yes. I don't think I want to bring it."

They mostly cherish and care for their mates because if they lose them, they would forever be broken, but in reverse was the case in my situation; my mate wanted me dead, probably why he made me the royal food taster knowing how dangerous the job was. Sighing, I pulled myself up and was about to move when there was a sudden knock on the door. Knowing my bedmate, she wouldn’t knock before entering, so I was certain that she wasn’t the one. Lifting my brows and pushing up my lips, I masked my pains and presented a polite face as I opened the door. “Yes?” “The king requires your presence in his chamber,” delivered the lycan guard wolf who was standing before me. I could tell his identity from h
