Long Classic Books Novels & Stories

Threadbare paths where feet had walked before still looked good. The air smelled of lemon oil in some areas. I revisited the library again. Leather books, some with cracked spines, but well-kept. The Latin books on one side, the French books on another side. And there were the classics, which were my favourite. A decanter on the desk. Amber, which was always full, but I'd never used the desk, only the chaste by the window when reading. The drawing-room was next. There was a piano. Steinway, with the lid closed. The bench was pulled out as though someone had used the it.

I admired some of the old classics and new books as my eyes wandered over every title. I had gathered a stack of books in my hand, picking ones I wanted to read and taking them out. So far, I had five books that I found would pique my interest such as Alice in Wonderland, Pride and Prejudice and the Maze Runner. All of these books were human and I admired the wide selection of books that this room had. I tried to find one that was all about werewolves like the library back at my pack had and only seemed to find one that was labelled 'As Old As Time Will Tell' written by none other than one of the eldest werewolf alive which was 'Herbert Vanderlin'. In the blurb, it states his life as an old

There were copies of The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew, The Three Investigators and The Secret Seven, as well as modern mystery thrillers by authors such as Lee Child and James Patterson. But there were also older novels that Elmo recalled as movies on TCM but had never read. He saw Treasure Island and Ivanhoe, Tom Sawyer and Robinson Crusoe.

"We have a variety of everything." He reached behind me then, pulling a few older books from one of the shelves before handing them to me. The covers were worn and elegant, the pages yellowed with age. "They're old," he said. "Most of them were written in the eighteen hundreds." I opened one somewhere near the middle before handing it back to him. "Read something to me," I said quietly.

"You can wait here, I'll come to Mr. Miller." I nodded, and did what I had wanted to do for a long time. I walked over to one of the large shelves as she entered a hallway at the end of this room, and I was surprised because I thought these books were just replicas made of styrofoam. In fact these books are really original, or books that are copies of the original books. Which, of course, is also old. I pulled up a book called Bleak House by Charles Dickens. One of the books was dark blue with an old engraving on its back.

But Lena continued curiously exploring, fully desiring to become a part of Renz's private world, at least for a few moments. Lena had already seen the four libraries of Schloss Wolfenbarger, but Lena thought that Renz's lounge could have been considered a small fifth. There were several tall bookcases, neatly stacked with large volumes and ledgers. Lena briefly scanned the titles, surprised by the names that had been deemed worthy of Renz's private collection. There were several that she knew well with from the hours she stole reading at Sterling Manor, such as Shakespeare and Dante, and illuminated prints of William Blake. I put back in the drawer the classical and hardbound books that I think Kelly is reading. Those are classical novels, books that make my brain bleed because of the corny words written there. I hate novels. I'd rather read comics than this kind of boring stuff. When standing up to put the last book inside, I saw a paper fall from it. I picked it up and put it back in the book but the words written there caught my attention.
