He leaned in and grabbed Reed by the shoulder to keep him steady.
Reed’s voice was nearly inaudible as he spoke. “I served, under your father. I knew, Blackwood, very well back then. The man I saw last night, wasn’t him.”
Jace tensed up. “What do you mean?”
“His eyes,” Reed, “They were, darker." He coughed out blood again. "Not just in color, but something deeper.”
He paused, took one last breath and whispered, “Alpha, whatever you do, don’t take this lightly.” Then another pause. “I can assure you of one thing, Blackwood is coming, and he’s coming for everything.”
