Lily glanced back at me without meaning to, then looked away again just as quickly. I kept my eyes forward. Tracy turned suddenly, it seemed she had remembered I was there.
"You," she said. "Have you ever actually seen Dr. Carter in person?"
I met her eyes. "Yes," I said.
Tracy looked me over slowly, from my shoes to my face, the way she used to do in the mansion. "So a clerk has seen Dr. Carter," she said. "But not a Luna."
