THE HEART WANTS WHAT THE HEART WANTS (Part One)

THE HEART WANTS WHAT THE HEART WANTS (Part One)

He then turned to HD. "Open it!" HD limped to the door and placed his palm on a particular part of the door. A sensor with its green light, wrapped around HD's palm, came up. And after beeping four times, a compacted box that was not noticeable before, opened up just above HD's palm and an eye scanner slid out. HD moved his eyes close to the circular scanner and a spectrum of white light shot out from inside the scanner, straight into his eyes. After humming for a bit, the scanner went back into the wall and the light on the palm scanner turned blue before a mechanical voice said "Welcome!"

she asked, still looking forward. “Feel what?” Talia asked. “The city,” Neris said. “It’s awake.” Talia listened. Under the hum of the monitor, the building itself breathed: air shifting as settings changed, a soft click as cameras handed a picture from one angle to the next, a low thrum beneath the floor. ALPHA JORDAN'S DARK OBSESSION

ALPHA JORDAN'S DARK OBSESSION

"Check these. Tell me if they’re real or if we’re being played." The tech guy moved to a side table and pulled out a high-res scanner and a tablet. He started running some software that looked like a bunch of green code sliding down a black screen. He was looking for pixel inconsistencies—checking the metadata of the images to see if they’d been scrubbed or altered.

The House Beneath the Blood Moon

Fear—shared, but not dominant. “What’s the test?” I asked Cassius. Cassius hesitated. That was new. “A resonance scan,” he said finally. “Non-invasive. The Sanctuary will do most of the work.” Sébastien murmured, “I love when haunted architecture gets involved in reproductive speculation.” “Shut up,” Lucien and I said at the same time. Cassius ignored him anyway. I swallowed. “Do it,” I said. The crystal beneath my feet warmed.

that made my ears ring with the phantom hum of the Seventh Peak's internal processors. “The scan is complete,” Aris whispered, her face illuminated by the flickering blue light of her handheld terminal. Her eyes were wide, the pupils blown wide in the dim cave light. “The mountain has indexed our mass. It knows exactly how many heartbeats are in this cavern. The 'rain' was just the sonar; now comes the Scalpel.”

Ride Or Ruin The Biker Who Owned My Soul

Ride Or Ruin The Biker Who Owned My Soul

I nodded and moved to the diagnostic bed; the paper covering crackled beneath me as I lay back carefully, one hand resting protectively over my stomach. Mila stood beside Ruin, watching with cautious curiosity. Axel prepared the scanner with the calm precision of someone who had done emergency procedures too many times to count. “This may take a minute,” he said. The gel was cold against my skin, making me flinch slightly. Then the scanner moved. For a moment, the only sound in the room was the faint hum of the machine and the muffled thuds of distant fighting beyond the sealed door. Then the screen changed. A shape appeared small but clear and undeniably real.

THE ALPHA'S BILLIONAIRE ROGUE: HER TRIPLE REGRET

THE ALPHA'S BILLIONAIRE ROGUE: HER TRIPLE REGRET

The Orbital Shadow High above Neo-Tokyo, the Pen-Ship, a massive, golden vessel shaped like a fountain pen nib, began to rotate. Its underside glowed with a terrifying, sterile white light. This was the "Scrub-Beam," a weapon that didn't explode; it simply removed the data of anything it touched. "Target lock confirmed," a robotic voice echoed through the tactical suite's speakers. "They're early!" Elena shouted, slamming her hand against the desk. "We’ve only decoded forty percent of the Null-Sector coordinates!"
