Tears' Curse
A faint, bittersweet smile touched her dry lips.
Footsteps descended the stairs. Miracle looked up as Lyn appeared, trailing behind her brother. She held a shimmering blue magnolia—its petals glowing faintly, holding the last traces of Hayden.
Miracle blinked back her tears and followed them outside. She knew what came next.
"Let's begin, Lyn," Kingsley breathed as soon as they stepped into the backyard.
Lyn nodded. She tossed the flower into the air, and as she did, a soft azure light emanated from her palm, spiraling gracefully around the suspended blossom. Kingsley, his lips pressed into a tight line, opened his hand, releasing his energy to merge with Lyn's.
